 Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome and Thank You

We are sure that you are aware that the British government wants every child back in school in early September. So do all of us at the Fulbridge Academy.

However, we also want our parents, carers and families to know that we intend to do everything in our power to keep children, staff and our school community as safe as we can from the virus.

I would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding over the past months, during these very strange and unusual times.

 Bubbles

There will be some changes to the way we organise our Academy. Currently we have Nursery, Reception, Year 1, 5 and 6 in school which we have operated in class bubbles. We will continue to do this while the children are inside the school building. When the children are outside they will only mix within their year group. There will not be any separate ‘key worker’ provision in September, those children will be in their class base bubble.

Drop off and Pick Up

For Covid health and safety reasons we will continue to have different drop off and pick up times. It is very important that you do not allow the children to arrive earlier than their allotted time below:

Year Group

Arrival Time

Yr 6

8.20 - 8.30

Reception, Yr 1, Yr 2 and Yr 4

8.30 - 8.35

Yr 3 and Yr 5

8.40 - 8.45

The pick up times will be:

Phase (Year Group)

Pick Up Time

Phase 1 (Reception and Year 1)

3.00pm

Phase 2 (Years 2 & 3)

3.05pm

Phase 3 (Years 4 & 5)

3.10pm

Phase 4 (Year 6)

3.20pm

Staggered start to Term

We will be having a short staggered start to the year to ensure all year groups, children, parents and staff stay safe and to allow for new routines to embed each day.

Year Group

First Day of School

Nursery and Reception

Monday 7th September

Yr 2, Yr 4 and Yr 6

Tuesday 8th September

Yr 1, Yr 3 and Yr 5

Wednesday 9th September

Breakfast and After School Club

Breakfast and After School Clubs will start in week 2, Monday 14th September. An update will come out explaining how this will work in the first week of term.

Extra-curricular clubs will start at a later date. We will inform you when we are able to run these again.

 Nursery

Nursery will start back on Monday 7th September. The drop off time will be 8.30am and pick up time will be at 11.30am.

Lunchtimes

If your child usually has a hot dinner they will still be able have one. Any children who have a Free School Meal will continue to receive this as well as Universal Free School Meals in reception, year 1 and year 2. You would be able to book and pay for a school dinner through our My Child at School app. The children will eat their dinner in their classrooms. There will be one hot option and two cold options.

 Curriculum

We have plans in place to give children extra lessons in the core subjects to support the catch up plan. The children will be having all of their normal lessons as part of the broad and balanced curriculum we offer at Fulbridge. This is also in line with the Government expectations.

Front Office

The front office will be open again from September. We ask that you only enter if you have a very important issue to deal with. Otherwise, so that we do not have lots of people in the office we ask all parents to contact us by  phone or email 01733 566990 / Office@fulbridgeacademy.co.uk

We are very excited at the prospect of seeing all the children back at school in September. We will be working hard over the summer to ensure the Academy is safe for the children’s return.

We hope you all have a lovely summer break and we look forward to seeing you all back in September.

Kind regards,

Mr B Erskine

Principal of the Academy

Dear Parent/Carers                                                                                                                                                         We would like to begin by thanking you for your patience and understanding during these past months. We know it has been difficult and are very grateful for the support you have given us.

As you may be aware, all children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 have been invited back to school. We made the decision to invite Year 5 children back to school and they will be starting on Monday 29th June. The parents  of Year 5 children  will have received a phone call from their teacher. If you have not received or missed the call and want your child to return please phone the school office by Friday at 10am. Due to Year 5  having  SATs tests next year we feel that having 3 weeks of education before the summer will make a big difference for those children.

This Friday (the 26th at 10am), 26th June, will be the last chance for parents to sign their child up to return to school. They will start on Monday 29th June and attend school for the last 3 weeks of term. Friday 17th July will be the last day of term.

Due to the safety of children, parents and staff, as well as the capacity we have in school, we unfortunately are not able to take any more year groups in before September. Therefore children in years 2, 3 and 4 will stay at home, continue to complete the home learning and return to school in September.

We continue to take children into our Key Worker provision for parents who are working and are on the list of jobs critical to the COVID-19 recovery. If you are expected to go back to work, but your job is not on the list, please phone the office and they will look to see if there is space for your child. We have a limit on the number of children we can have in this provision and therefore you may not be offered a place. The key worker provision starts school between 8.00 and 8.30am and has a flexible end of the day depending on the parents’ working hours. The latest pickup time is 5.00pm.

We are hopeful that all children will be back in September, but until then please keep your child at home if they are not in one of the above year groups or a key worker. We encourage you to continue to support your child with their home learning by using the resources on the Fulbridge Academy Website and the fantastic lessons on the National Oak Academy. You can continue to keep in contact with the adults in your child’s class using the school’s facebook and the email addresses provided.

Thank you once again for your support.

Mr Erskine

Principal

16 June 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Parents of Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & 6 and Key Workers.

As of next week, there will be some changes to our provision for some children at the Academy. As we are slowly getting back to normality, we are going to provide the option of school lunches from the school kitchen. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 qualify for a Universal Free School Meals and they will be provided a lunch by the Academy. Children that are not in these year groups will have the opportunity to purchase a  packed lunch from the school kitchen at the normal price. If you do not wish to receive/buy school lunch then please send your child to school with a packed lunch.

If you are interested in booking  a lunch and you are not in Reception, Year 1 or 2 please can you call the office to book and make payment.

We will also be changing the school day to the following hours.

Reception: 8.30am - 1.00pm

Year One: 8.45am - 1.15pm

Year Six: 8.30am- 1.00pm

Key Worker Children remain the same: 8.00am - 5.00pm

We continue to increase the numbers of children in these year groups as and when it is safe to do so by ensuring that we are following the Government guidance around COVID-19.

Thank you for your cooperation as we move forward.

Kind Regards

Mr B Erskine

Principal of the Fulbridge Academy

Information for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6

We would like to begin by saying thank you for your patience and understanding in the past month. We know it has been difficult and are very grateful for the support you have given us.

The Government has announced that schools will begin to reopen for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.

Fulbridge Academy will open from Tuesday 2nd June.

We understand that you will have many questions. We have sent out a survey for you to tell us if you will be sending your child back into school. If you have not completed this yet, please do by going to bit.ly/FulbridgeR2S. If you decide not to send your child there will be no fines.

If you do not register your child for school through the questionnaire and then change your mind they will not be able to attend until the following week. This is due to the safety of children, parents and staff. As an academy we need to be fully aware of how many children will be attending so that we can put all the safety measures we need in place for an increase in numbers. If you send your child in and then change your mind and want to keep them at home, this is absolutely fine.

Your child’s safety is our number one priority and this means there will be some changes to school:

Classrooms

    • Your child will be in a smaller class of no more than 15 children.

    • These classes will stay the same each day.

    • Children will be kept apart, but social distancing will not be possible

    • Staff will not be wearing gloves and face masks unless they are dealing with a child with the COVID-19 symptoms

    • We ask that your child does not bring any bags etc into school with them.

    • They can bring a water bottle.

Start and End Of the Day

    • The school day will be shorter for the first few weeks (See times below)

    • You will be asked to enter and exit at different points (See map on reverse)

    • There will be no breakfast club or after school club

    • We ask all parents to observe social distancing measures at all times

Learning

    • We will not be teaching all of our regular lessons to reduce movement around school

    • Classes will focus on Reading, Writing and Maths to make up for any lost learning

Lunches

    • While we are operating shorter days no lunches will be served

    • Pupils eligible for Free School Meals will continue to receive vouchers.

We will have signs up around school with one way systems in place. We please ask that you stick to the systems for the safety of other parents, children and staff.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support. We look forward to seeing you and your children on June 2nd .

If your child is not in one of these year groups please keep them at home.

We are really looking forward to when it will be safe for all children to be back in school, but  until then please keep your child at home. We encourage you to continue to support your child with their home learning by using the resources on the Fulbridge Academy Website and the fantastic lessons on the National Oak Academy. You can continue to keep in contact with the adult in your child’s class using the school’s facebook and the email addresses provided.

Information for key worker children

As you may be aware all children in Nursery, Year 1, Reception and Year 6 will be returning to school. Please continue to send your child into school as before, your child will need their school uniform on.

School will be closed from Monday May 25th until June 2nd. This will allow for school to undergo a deep clean and prepare the school and staff.

Please arrive through the back gate between 8:00 and 8:30 and drop your child off at the school shop. ( See map) .

Please collect at the front of school by calling the usual number. We will have signs up around school with one way systems in place. We please ask that you stick to the systems for the safety of other parents, children and staff.

Thank you once again for your support.
