***18th July 2026: Update from Peterborough City Council
MESSAGE TO PARENTS
Free School Meals – Important Information for Families
Peterborough City Council is writing directly to families who may be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) but are not currently registered.
If you receive a letter from the Council, please take a few minutes to read it and use the links provided.
Registering for Free School Meals can provide significant benefits for children and families, including help with school meal costs and access to additional support over the summer with childcare and food provision via the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme where eligible. The value is estimated at a minimum of £495 per year per child, for households.
Schools also receive additional funding through the Pupil Premium to support pupils' learning and wellbeing. Even if your child does not currently take a school meal, it is still important to check whether they are entitled and complete the application process if eligible.
Please look out for correspondence from Peterborough City Council over the coming week and respond as soon as possible in advance of next term, if you receive a letter.
Thank you
